changing relationship between the unresting<\/span><\/p>\n

Nature of Human Geography<\/span><\/h2>\n


<\/span><\/p>\n

Human geography studies the inter-relationship<\/span><\/p>\n

between the physical environment and sociocultural environment created by human beings<\/span><\/p>\n

through mutual interaction with each other.<\/span> You know that these elements are landforms, soils, climate, water, natural vegetation<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

and diverse flora and fauna.<\/span>Houses, villages, cities,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

road-rail networks, industries, farms, ports, items of our daily use and all other elements of material<\/span><\/p>\n

culture have been created by human beings using the resources provided by the physical<\/span><\/p>\n

environment. While physical environment has been greatly modified by human beings, it has<\/span><\/p>\n

also, in turn, impacted human lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are various concepts and approaches to study human Geography such as Determinism, Possibilism, Neo-Determinism, Humanism. we will discuss them in other posts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fields and Sub-fields of Human Geography (Scope of Human Geography)<\/span><\/h2>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Human geography, as you have seen, attempts<\/span><\/p>\n

to explain the relationship between all elements<\/span><\/p>\n

of human life and the space they occur over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, human geography assumes a highly<\/span><\/p>\n

inter-disciplinary nature. It develops close interface with other sister disciplines in social<\/span><\/p>\n

sciences in order to understand and explain<\/span><\/p>\n

human elements on the surface of the earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the expansion of knowledge, new sub-fields emerge and it has also happened to<\/span><\/p>\n

human geography. Let us examine these fields<\/span><\/p>\n

and sub-fields of Human Geography (Table 1.2)<\/span><\/p>\n
